damn the autohahn

we had to get up early today to observe from the SARA telescope. apparently this was the first time anyone has ever remotely observed with a telescope on Kitt Peak from Germany. watch out world record book. we also got to see the telescope we will be working with here. it's bigger than the one in Arizona, but we haven't been inside yet.
we left Tautenburg for Freising today at 11. the trip is supposed to take 4 hours. after 2 hours dead stopped on the autobahn, we made it in 5 hours. when we were moving, we were going around 145 mph. it's a pretty efficient way to travel, just not what I'm used to. we're spening the night in Freising and going to Munich on the train in the morning
